Pause in Paradise 

Being located in the magnificent site, within the unique landscape of rice terraces of Banaue, Pause in paradise aims to provide the sustainable accommodation for hikers, who are going to be the main users of the complex. There has been an accentuated attention  paid to the sustainability, especially in the fields of Economy, Social and Energy consumption by using the architecture and landscape architecture as the main tools to mold this desire and in addition to that, to take advantage of the God-given and extraordinary natural features of the location. Each block is designed in a self-sustaining way, also in case of morphology, the structures are inspired by the local way of construction and the culture and the lifestyle of Ifugao people, has been the inspiration for the design to fulfill social and cultural sustainability and make the project to belong to everyone, ranging from tourists to local community, and to be a great and inviting landmark for the region and to act as a cultural intersection. The project consists of 3 blocks, placed separately and each block has the capacity for maximum 2 visitor.it has been emphasized to create the hierarchy of space even though the site is quiet limited. Spaces are divided to 3 categories. private, semi private and common spaces to help users to have the maximum comfort while staying at place.at the end, the point that makes this project special, is that not only it is not competing with the beauty of the existing nature and culture, but also it is seating humbly in the site and gets merged with the Banaue rice terraces and people’s daily life.
